At PKL, we are revolutionizing the training landscape by providing a groundbreaking system for individuals and organizations with OmniSpec.

Created in 2015, our training system sought to overcome the inherent challenges of older industrially based training methodologies, which relied heavily on outdated training manuals, classroom lectures, and sporadic practical sessions, and thus failed to fulfill the needs of the dynamic modern workforce. The older “one and done” schoolhouse-style training options offered mostly stagnant content, no career progression continuum, and rigid schedules where students had to go “somewhere else” to train or wait for the instructor to come to them.

We knew there had to be a better way to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge they needed to excel in their respective fields. By challenging this outdated training paradigm, we created a wholly new mental lens for imagining, designing, and delivering, training.

Driven by a passion for innovation and a commitment to revolutionize the training landscape, we embarked on a journey to develop OmniSpec. Our team of visionary technologists, learning experts, and industry professionals pooled their expertise to create a system that would bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, while simultaneously addressing the restrictions of time, location, and accessibility.

Central to OmniSpec’s philosophy is the thoughtful integration of simulation technologies. By leveraging the power of immersive simulations, we offer a training experience replicating real-world scenarios in a safe and controlled environment. Learners can explore, practice, and refine their skills in a virtual space duplicating the challenges they would encounter in their actual work settings. We aimed to have simulation technologies serve our training pedagogy—and truly focus on the habits of learning.    

Furthermore, we wanted to re-affirm the benefits of training to organizational health, resilience, and productivity. Many organizations incorrectly view training as just an ad hoc tactic, instead of as a core cultural principle. Research data confirm that a commitment to training, as part of a company’s ethos, has a profound impact on performance, budget, and morale.
